Someone show this to Marshawn Lynch. This is what badass REALLY looks like.
As opposed to the NFL ‘tough guy’ who walked out wearing his Everybody v. Trump shirt (before hiding behind the coaches while he sat his butt down for the anthem), this Las Vegas shooting victim showed us all what tough REALLY looks like.
First he stands up to greet Melania, and she protests, ‘don’t get up, don’t get up’.
It’s obviously taking some effort, because there’s a momentary delay as President Trump is speaking with someone outside the room, and he sits back on the edge of his bed for just a moment, until it’s clear the President is arriving.
He is on his feet, with an outstretched hand when the President arrives.
‘Hey, this guy looks tough to me.’
There’s a compliment you’d be happy to hear from your President, right?
‘Thank you so much.’ Hand on the shoulder. Points to the wounded leg, ‘how’s it going?’
So, who was he?
He was running toward Mandaly Bay when a bullet tore through his leg.
Gunderson posted the video to his Facebook page with the caption: ‘I will never lie down when the President of this great country comes to shake my hand!
‘There may be plenty of issues in this country but I will always respect my country, my president and my flag. Shot in the leg or not, I will stand to show my President the respect he deserves!’ Gunderson wrote.
On Gunderson’s patient board in his hospital room, he also had the hashtag ‘#MAGA’ written under the statement: ‘What’s important to me.’ — DailyMail
On his Facebook page, he added another comment that shows just what a class act this guy really is.
Hey everyone! So when I decided to post the things that I did, as well as accept some interviews, I did so with the intention of spreading an uplifting message during this horrific time in our country. I prepared my family beforehand knowing that there would be plenty of backlash and hateful comments. I asked for everyone to leave the negativity out of it but let’s be honest, I knew that wouldn’t happen. SO, with that being said, I’m asking that anytime someone does leave a hateful or aggressive comment that we simply ignore them. They want to get a rise out of us. They want to cause divide and when we respond with hate as well, it simply worsens the situation and destroys the meaning behind this message. I will do my best to respond to the ones I can with complete class and love. Let’s continue to bring our nation together instead of fight with those simply looking to fight. I’m asking that as a favor for everyone reading my posts. Thank you so much for the love and I love all of you!!! —Facebook
Isn’t it funny, with all that big talk about ‘love trumps hate’ that we’re seeing it truly lived out by a guy who took a bullet in perhaps the most heinous killing spree in modern US history?
They say that when you are ‘squeezed’ in a crisis, whatever is truly in you comes out.
This guy is a real champ. We could use 10,000 more like him.
Does your grandpa go off on paltry politicians, whether they be Democrats or Republicans? Does he get misty eyed when he talks about God and Country and America’s future? And have you ever heard him scream, ‘Awww … Hell no!’ when Rosie O’Donnell starts yapping on television? If you answered yes to one, or all of the above, then your gramps will love Doug Giles’ latest book, My Grandpa’s A Patriotic Badass.
