Watch: These Kids Try To Define ‘What A Boy Is’ And It’s Terrifying

Joshua, age 13, “I don’t really know what it means to be a boy, besides physical attributes.”

Yikes. Is this what we’ve been reduced to in 2018?

Boys don’t have a sense of what it means to be a boy; a sense of what sets them apart?

How can they even hope to make the jump to being men, if they don’t understand their place in this world?

No wonder the lines have blurred between the sexes, and even little kids think it’s perfectly natural to slip back and forth between genders, depending on how you feel that day.

The video has a young guy perfectly parroting the language of the activists, with words like ‘social construct’ used in their expected PC context.

It’s almost like the T.S. Eliott quote ‘this is how the world ends, not with a bang, but a whimper’ is being taken as a challenge by our social engineers.

But not everyone has that toxic vision of what the future holds for boys in our society. Doug Giles is among those taking a stand and setting the bar higher for our young bucks.

Now that you know that the cards are stacked against boys, check out what these kids are learning about what the distinguishing characteristics of a ‘boy’ are:

In his famous work, The Abolition of Man,  C.S. Lewis explains that the ‘new’ kind of education — propaganda rather than propagation — has played a role in the ensuring that boys aren’t properly trained and remain stunted instead of becoming real men

“If they embark on this course the difference between the old and the new education will be an important one. Where the old initiated, the new merely ‘conditions’. The old dealt with its pupils as grown birds deal with young birds when they teach them to fly; the new deals with them more as the poultry-keeper deals with young birds — making them thus or thus for purposes of which the birds know nothing. In a word, the old was a kind of propagation — men transmitting manhood to men; the new is merely propaganda.”

The ‘new’ education is a real sh!tshow.

Maybe we should look back and see what the ‘classical’ definition of manliness is.

Authors Brett and Kate McKay suggest returning to the teachings of Aristotle and the ancient Romans, who framed true manliness as the cultivation of virtues, including:

  • Courage
  • Loyalty
  • Industry
  • Resiliency
  • Resolution
  • Personal Responsibility
  • Self-Reliance
  • Integrity
  • Sacrifice

H/T: The Lead

The question we’re left with, dear reader, is which vision of the future are you going to throw your support behind?

The kind that gave us pajama boys, douche knots, and skinny jeans?

Or the kind that gave us test pilots, moon landings, firefighters, soldiers… and best of all, fathers that don’t bail on their wife and kids when life gets tough?
