If even many Liberals don’t believe the lie that we’re ‘racist’ anymore, why do they keep telling it?
It’s a ‘tale as old as time’ so to speak. A liberal gets mad at a conservative, and they immediately default to ‘racist’ or one of the various offshoots.
We see it in CNN (Don Lemon, Van Jones, Joy Reid, you are some of the worst offenders).
We see it in our politicians.
Even Bernie Sanders tried to use allegations of bigotry as a pretense for an Unconstitutional Religious Test of an appointee.
But, just as we conservatives know to either ignore such allegations or push back against them, even a lot of people on the left know such claims are just an attempt to demonize us and deflect from any actual policies or principles we might try to discuss.
Shelby Steele wrote a piece in the Wall Street Journal exposing the claim as bogus and based mostly on a very old idea.
Liberal White Guilt.
He opens with the idea that marches have changed since the 60’s. No longer is there dignity and a defined purpose. It’s become disorganized seething rage.
All this suggests lostness, the end of something rather than the beginning. What is ending?
America, since the ’60s, has lived through what might be called an age of white guilt. We may still be in this age, but the Trump election suggests an exhaustion with the idea of white guilt, and with the drama of culpability, innocence and correctness in which it mires us.
This isn’t the guilt of remorse someone might feel acknowledging actual wrongdoing and specific sins. White guilt, he goes on to say, isn’t about that at all.
It isn’t even about the suffering of others. It’s a self-preservation reflex, a cultural defensive crouch to avoid BEING STIGMATIZED, of being called in the secular sense, a heretic.
Bigot. Sexist. Homophobe. Xenophobe.
Such labels are enough, when applied, to destroy both people and businesses.
Professors have been forced out of teaching jobs. CEOs (Moxilla, Papa John’s) have been sent packing.
A few agitators with the social equivalent of a Molotov Cocktail wield far more power than they deserve.
Our new conservative president rolls his eyes when he is called a racist, and we all—liberal and conservative alike—know that he isn’t one. The jig is up. Bigotry exists, but it is far down on the list of problems that minorities now face. I grew up black in segregated America, where it was hard to find an open door. It’s harder now for young blacks to find a closed one.
This is the reality that made Ms. Warren’s attack on Mr. Sessions so tiresome. And it is what caused so many Democrats at President Trump’s address to Congress to look a little mortified, defiantly proud but dark with doubt. The sight of them was a profound moment in American political history.
He gives as strong an explanation for why they embrace Anti-Americanism as I have ever read:
This liberalism came into being not as an ideology but as an identity. It offered Americans moral esteem against the specter of American shame. This made for a liberalism devoted to the idea of American shamefulness. Without an ugly America to loathe, there is no automatic esteem to receive. Thus liberalism’s unrelenting current of anti-Americanism.
Let’s stipulate that, given our history, this liberalism is understandable. But American liberalism never acknowledged that it was about white esteem rather than minority accomplishment. Four thousand shootings in Chicago last year, and the mayor announces that his will be a sanctuary city. This is moral esteem over reality; the self-congratulation of idealism. Liberalism is exhausted because it has become a corruption.
Shelby Steele wrote a fantastic article, of which we barely skimmed the surface. It is well worth reading in its entirety.
Ladies, tell everyone that you don’t like the emasculated, metro-sexual ‘feminists’ — you’d rather have a President with balls:
And gents, let everyone know that you want your President to be just as much of a man as you are:
Donald J. Trump is our 45th President. Why? Because Americans from all races and classes are sick of whining Republicans and corrupt Democrats. Finally, we have a President who isn’t afraid to say what he thinks even if it is not popular with the press. Trump is not a typical politician. Trump can’t be bought. He will back up what he says with action, no matter the cost. Finally. A president with balls!
Get yours today and trigger the leftists and the RINO NeverTrumpers.
Does your grandpa go off on paltry politicians, whether they be Democrats or Republicans? Does he get misty eyed when he talks about God and Country and America’s future? And have you ever heard him scream, ‘Awww … Hell no!’ when Rosie O’Donnell starts yapping on television? If you answered yes to one, or all of the above, then your gramps will love Doug Giles’ latest book, My Grandpa Is A Patriotic Badass.
Don’t be fooled by the title — this ain’t just for Grandpa.
The Snowflake Generation — and the rest of America — needs a good ol’ dose of ‘Grandpa wisdom’.
Especially if that Grandpa is Doug Giles.
You’ll love My Grandpa Is A Patriotic Badass just as much as Grandpa will.
