Wasn’t this really the heart of the issue all along?
It was never REALLY a question about the women’s rights being supported or opposed, however much critics wanted to make it about that. It was about whether you were ending a life or not.
If we’re talking about nothing more than a mindless a clump of cells, like a tumor or a boil — get rid of it. Whether it’s the first week or fortieth week, who cares? There’s no problem. It’s literally none of our business.
But if we’re talking about a PERSON… then we’ve got a whole other set of issues. It’s no longer just the rights or the will of ONE person that needs to be considered, now we are considering the rights and the will of TWO PEOPLE.
At that point, the game has changed completely.
It’s something that even Michelle Wolf’s angry comedy act ‘let out of the bag’ when she told her little abortion joke, trying to put VP Pence ina bad light.
He thinks abortion is murder, which, first of all, don’t knock it til you try it. And when you do try it, really knock it. You’ve got to get that baby out of there.
Whoops. She didn’t say ‘clump of cells’. She said ‘baby’. And that’s exactly the point. If we can agree that we’re talking a baby at some point in the pregnancy, well, it doesn’t take a Mensa card to know that babies are people with rights like anyone else.
To an American, those rights are often summarized with ‘Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness’. That first one is the big one.
The new law, as it passed the Senate in South Carolina, even anticipates the favorite ‘what if’ questions of abortion advocates. Exemptions are included for instances of rape, incest or danger to the mother’s health. Which means abortions of convenience can’t hide behind the vanishingly rare cases we keep hearing about.
Other than that exemption, Abortion will be more or less off the table in South Carolina.
The South Carolina Senate approved a measure to ban all abortions in the state Wednesday night, barely 24 hours after defeating a similar proposal.
The measure amended a bill to ban brutal dismemberment abortions that tear unborn babies limb from limb while their hearts are beating, The State reports. The newly amended bill would ban all abortions, except in cases of rape, incest or threats to the mother’s life, according to the report.
State Senators voted 28-10 to approve the measure. It needs a second vote of approval before it can move to the state House for consideration.
Lawmakers said they expect abortion activists to challenge the bill if it becomes law, and they hope it will successfully challenge Roe v. Wade.
“It’s designed to give the court an opportunity to revisit Roe v. Wade,” state Senate Majority Leader Shane Massey told the newspaper.
To put it in terms that abortion advocates might better understand:
If we lived in 1940s Germany, opening a debate about whether a sovereign state had a right to enforce the death penalty would be the wrong question.
A better question would be whether the Jews, Slavs, Disabled and others had a human right NOT to be slaughtered wholesale.
To continue the parallel — the right of PERSONS not to be slaughtered wholesale, and PRECISELY THAT — is the question that the pro-life camp has been desperately trying to discuss all this time. But the other side insists on making the debate about the other kind of rights.
In today’s climate, with the Left’s rage machine cranked up to eleven… this vote took guts.
Well played South Carolina.

Why be average? It’s so overrated.
Everyone does that.

Rules For Radical Christians is not a survival devotional designed to help the young Christian adult limp through life. Rather, it is a road-tested, dominion blueprint that will equip the young adult with leadership skills and sufficient motivation to rise to a place of influence in an overtly non-Christian culture. Rules For Radical Christians gives the reader the keys to become strategically equipped to move into an anti-theistic environment and effectively influence it for the glory of God.
