When elected officials think they’re aristocrats, it’s time for them to go.
Reason #263,921,4489 in favor of term limits.
Shiela Jackson Lee thinks she’s better than us. And it’s not hard to prove it.
You remember her, don’t you?
Depending on how fine a point you want to put on it, she’s either a “grandstander”, a “drama queen”, or an “attention whore”, as evidenced in calling people racists without cause.
She’s got an inflated sense of her own importance. And she displayed it on a recent flight she took. Some ‘defender of the little people’.
‘Representative’ Sheila Jackson Lee insisted that an airline throw a schoolteacher out of a First Class seat so that Sheila could claim it for herself.
Jean-Marie Simon, 63, was preparing to board her final flight home from George Bush Intercontinental Airport in Houston on December 18 after an hour-long weather delay when she was told by the gate attendant that her ticket was not in the system.
When the attendant asked her if she had canceled her ticket, Simon replied: ‘No. I just want to go home.’
Simon, who was on the second leg of her return flight from Guatemala, was then told that the seat she had purchased, 1A, was taken.
The airline compensated her with a $500 voucher and another ticket for that flight in Economy Plus.
Simon believes that she was removed from her seat by United in order to accommodate the Congresswoman.
The airline, however, denies this.
Here’s the account in her own words:
I am not given to publishing epistles on Facebook, and especially at Christmas, but now I have my very own United…
One passenger has a theory about why they would have been highly motivated to deny this. She has the power to devastate their business with a simple malicious accusation.
Other people on the flight claim they have witnessed the congresswoman carry out similar behavior at least three times before.
‘I’ve seen Lee and IAH cutting in line and rudely taking advantage of her status before. United knows she will play the race card if she isn’t treated like royalty so they just give in. They don’t care about a hard working teacher vs a privileged idiot,’ one person tweeted. Source: DailyMail
And it’s not like she has a history of being careful about who she slanders with that particular label, is she?
Simon denies the airline’s claim that she canceled her ticket and claims United staff threatened to remove her from the flight for complaining and for taking a photo of Lee in her seat.
The teacher said she has screenshots of her United app that shows a canceled flight to Houston in August during Hurricane Harvey when she was supposed to visit her daughter, according to the Houston Chronicle.
‘Since this was not any fault of mine, the way the individual continued to act appeared to be, upon reflection, because I was an African American woman, seemingly an easy target along with the African American flight attendant who was very, very nice,’ Jackson Lee said in the statement.
‘This saddens me, especially at this time of year given all of the things we have to work on to help people.
‘But in the spirit of this season and out of the sincerity of my heart, if it is perceived that I had anything to do with this, I am kind enough to simply say sorry.’
Who should we believe?
Well, the schoolteacher is in the process of producing documentation to back up her claims.
Well, the Internet is forever, and we still remember this story about Pampered Sheila Lee:
Jackson Lee is routinely chauffeured the one short block to work–in a government car, by a member of her staff, at the taxpayers’ expense. And apparently in violation of House rules. AsJackson Lee noted on her first day in Congress, the use of public funds for private ends is a major no-no, and the political graveyard is strewn with officials who forgot that.

How long is someone with such contempt for the public going to remain face-down in the government trough?
