Sex Scandal Backlash: ‘I Know Men Who Say They Won’t Hire Women Now’

Well, looky here… it seems that the ‘MeToo’ movement has had some unexpected consequences.

As a female Associate Editor of Clash, I’ve been saying for some time that conflating sexual harassment with sexual assault does harm to both.

Neither behavior is acceptable, but neither are they the same.

The boss or coworker trying to get ‘handsy’ or making some sort of rude comment or joke just isn’t the same as forcible rape.

There is also the pesky little issue of ‘due process’ and the legitimate right to face your accuser.

The #MeToo campaign has ruined careers because of decades-old allegations of sexual misconduct.  This is not to say that the men should be excused for the behavior — but should their careers be destroyed before they have an opportunity to defend themselves?

Would you want that for you or for the men in your life?

But… feminists ‘persisted’.

And now, the unforseen backlash against hiring women has come.

The #MeToo campaign and the lack of transparency was discussed on MSNBC’s Morning Joe.

Mika Brzezinski and Joe Scarborough, who announced earlier this year that they are getting married after working together for a decade, said that there needs to be due process in these cases and more transparency in the workplace.

(Well, that’s a little awkward, isn’t it?)

Brzezinski applauded the women that came forward, but had her concerns as well.  She said that there needs to be a fair process:

‘Are we the judge and the jury and the cops? Are women the judge, the jury and the cops? Is that where we want to go? Because I don’t see us getting hired, if that’s the case,’ said Brzezinski.

‘So we need to figure out a better way to get rid of harassers, real harassers. We need to think of a better way to deal with people who need to be educated. The rules are changing, that’s great. Let’s be fair in this process.’

She later said in the program that the current environment is actually hurting women in the workplace, stating: ‘I know men who say they won’t hire women now, so that’s great.’

A panelist, Sam Stein, said that that kind of knee-jerk response was ‘stupid’.  Brzezinski asked what he would do.

Stein then explained: ‘You need to have an atmosphere that’s open to women coming forward…’

Scarborough then jumped in asking Stein how he would feel if an accusations from decades ago about him touching a woman ended his career.

Prior to that Scarborough had stated: ‘Whatever the movement is, whatever the cause is, if you think it is bigger than due process, giving people an opportunity to be heard and making sure that people – I know there are some people that say, “well, you know what, if some people get destroyed, if their lives get destroyed, that’s a small price.”‘

Brzezinski said, ‘We need to look at the process. But right now any woman can say anything and a man’s career is ruined. Now, a lot of women can say things that are true and their careers should be ruined.’

Gee, I’m old enough to remember that Vice President Pence was mocked all over the leftisphere for his ‘anti-woman’ policy of treating women with respect and protecting himself from accusations of sexual misconduct.

What became known as the ‘Pence Rule’ was panned all over the Media (D) for harming women’s careers.

The Atlantic: How Pence’s Dudely Dinners Hurt Women

The Washington Post:  Mike Pence doesn’t dine alone with other women. And we’re all shocked.

The New Yorker: Mike Pence’s Marriage and the Beliefs That Keep Women from Power

The Guardian: Mike Pence doesn’t eat alone with women. That speaks volumes

The Los Angeles Times: Mike Pence won’t dine alone with a woman who’s not his wife. Is that sexist?

Of course, there are many that would say that adopting the ‘Pence Rule’ is a ridiculous response.

Is it more ridiculous than not hiring women?

It didn’t take long, however, for the panel to turn on the most egregious of sexual misconduct defenders — the Clintons.

And Scarborough noted it would all be much different if Hillary had won the election.

‘What else was out there that changed other than Hillary Clinton losing and the Clintons for the first time in 25 years being out of power of some sort?’ he asked

Al Franken would be senator and Kirsten Gillibrand, who rode in the Clinton’s wake for decades, would still be riding on that wake right now. Let’s just move that to the side, because everybody knows that’s true.’

The folks over at Morning Joe got this one right.

You know what they say, ‘Even a stopped clock is right twice a day‘.

Brzezinski claimed that for the 10 years she’s been on the show that she’s been critical of the Clintons because of the abuse of women issue. She also claims that the Hillary camp had called NBC to have the Morning Joe co-host pulled off the air for her lack of ‘journalistic integrity’.

Journalistic integrity?

What Jim Acosta, Rachel Maddow and the Rest of The Media (D) STILL haven’t figured out yet is why we call them ‘Fake News’.

Let’s spell it out for them. In a shirt.

Because you know they won’t be able to figure it out on their own.

JOUR-NAL-IST: A Professional Liar For Liberal Causes

There’s a ladies’ version

And a men’s version

The problem isn’t just the lies they tell…

It’s the truth they DON’T tell…

And the opinions laced right through them.

It’s propaganda:
