‘Ryland’s The Only One Left’: 5yr. Old Boy’s Family SLAUGHTERED In Church Massacre

This is simply devastating.

In the small, First Baptist Church of Sutherland Springs, Texas, several families have suffered multiple losses after gunman Devin Patrick Kelley murdered 26 and injured dozens of others. The victims ranged in age from 18 months to 77 years of age. A woman who was 8-months pregnant was also killed in the massacre.

Among those injured was 5-year old Ryland Ward.

A five-year-old boy was found clinging to life among the pews by his aunt after his mother and sisters were shot dead in front of him in the Texas church massacre, it has emerged.

Ryland Ward is undergoing emergency surgery after being shot in the arm, stomach and groin when Devin Patrick Kelley burst into the First Baptist Church of Sutherland Springs in Texas and opened fire.

His mother Joann Ward, her daughters Brooke Ward, five, and Emily Garza, seven, are among the 26 people killed in the mass shooting. Their sister, nine-year-old Rihanna, had her glasses shot off her face but survived.

Is it time to have armed guards in churches?

Doug Giles says that it’s the Biblical thing to do:

Ryland’s aunt spoke to the media.

Ryland’s aunt, Leslie Ward, told the New York Daily News she rushed to the church from her home after hearing shots.

She said: ‘I found my nephew in the front, in pain. It was bad. There was just dead bodies everywhere. It wasn’t what I wanted to see but at the time, I wasn’t worried about it. I was worried about finding my family.’

Leslie said Ryland was in a stable condition in hospital.

Dallas Morning News spoke to Ryland’s uncle, Michael, and he was less optimistic.

The newspaper spoke to his uncle Michael Ward, who said he feared the worst for his nephew.

‘They got him all cut open, from the gunshots. I don’t think he’s going to make it,’ he said. Ryland’s counsin, McKinley, wept as she added: ‘Ryland is the only one left.’

Mr Ward said Ryland’s father, Chris, had run to the church without putting his shoes on after being told a shooting had taken place.

Ryland’s eldest sister survived, and he’s still struggling for his life.

Three members of this family were lost all at once.

Please, dear Clash Reader, remember this family in your prayers.

Especially little Ryland and his sister.

So, knowing this, is it time for armed guards in churches?

If you think that’s a great idea, you need this:

The men and women in law enforcement that serve and protect us are commendable, but the response time means that they don’t get there when the bullets are flying.

Are you willing to wait 20 minutes for the police to show up?

It’s an issue that needs to be discussed within our churches and addressed by our church leaders.

We need some righteous badassery in the church to protect ourselves, our loved ones, and our brothers and sisters in Christ from the preventable evil in this world.

We need to Obey Jesus.

Including what he said in Luke 22:36.

He [Jesus] said to them, “But now let the one who has a moneybag take it, and likewise a knapsack. And let the one who has no sword sell his cloak and buy one.
