Kaepernick Named 2017 ‘Citizen of the Year’ By This ‘Prestigious’ Magazine – Featured on Cover

So, we’re now celebrating people that LITERALLY do nothing. Good to know.

Colin Kaepernick, the former San Francisco 49ers Quarterback, has been given a prestigious award in lieu of an NFL contract. He must be so proud.

For his slactivism, Kaepernick has been named ‘Citizen of the Year’ by GQ, a magazine formerly for gentlemen — which is now apparently shifting their target demographic to unpatriotic socialist activists with a penchant for fictionalized ‘oppression’.

That must make his adoptive parents (who happen to be white) so very proud.

Hey, maybe this could get him an endorsement deal.

Here’s the GQ cover:

Before you mutter ‘B.S.’, remember, GQ also named Barry ‘Leader of the Year’ in the past, and wrote a hagiography when he was leaving office.

Kaepernick hasn’t been signed by a team this season, though he has kept himself conditioned and ready for the field.

Critics say that it was about his less-than-stellar performance last season, others that it was the politicization of the game that has angered fans and resulted in a boycott that is rippling through not just the entire NFL but related businesses like Papa John’s and ESPN.

Many fans have left.

That’s obvious and can be seen in these photos in Week 10 of the season.

Check out Doug’s astute commentary:

Let’s be clear, Colin Kaepernick is free to voice his opinion on any issue at any time that he’s not wearing his jersey. When he is on the field, he is representing a brand, and the owner of the team can determine how that brand is viewed. The league itself has made it clear with the use of fines that some behavior is unacceptable to ‘the brand’. The 9/11 cleats, the Dallas Cowboys wanting to honor slain police officers by a BLM activist, and even end zone celebrations were subject to fines.

But that’s not good enough for Mr. Pig Socks.

He’s suing.

Aside from his activism, the quarterback’s most notable action this year was filing a federal lawsuit against the NFL claiming the league colluded to not sign him. Kaepernick threw for 2,241 yards and 16 touchdowns against four interceptions in 2016, numbers that would make him an improvement over many quarterback situations around the NFL.

Kaepernick’s former teammate and the second to kneel in protest of the anthem wants his buddy back in the game.

“My goal this year has been to get the narrative back on track,” Reid told GQ. “We started having communications with the NFL, and they said they’re going to help us make progress on these issues. But the next step is to get Colin back in the NFL. Because he’s the one that started this. I think we’re finally getting where me and Colin envision this going. Now it’s time for him to get back in the league.

“These issues are real, and people know they’re real. But some will do anything to distract from that, to change the narrative, and it’s gotten Colin blackballed from the NFL.”

By the time things cool down, there won’t be an NFL left to play for.

Kaepernick had better enjoy the accolades while he still can, whatever they are.

A shirt that aptly describes the NFL — No Fans Left.

NFL’s TV ratings are plummeting as more players refuse to stand for the national anthem. It’s hard to believe that a nation that has given these players the opportunity to achieve so much is so easily disrespected. Even worse, consider the men and women who have laid down their lives so that these athletes could live in a relatively safe country and enjoy their fame and fortune.

Hard-working, patriotic Americans don’t want to watch a bunch of whiners play football. They want to watch winners.

And the best part? This shirt is made in the USA, printed in the USA, on an American-Made t-shirt press!

Does your grandpa go off on paltry politicians, whether they be Democrats or Republicans? Does he get misty eyed when he talks about God and Country and America’s future? And have you ever heard him scream, ‘Awww … Hell no!’ when Rosie O’Donnell starts yapping on television? If you answered yes to one, or all of the above, then your gramps will love Doug Giles’ latest book, My Grandpa Is A Patriotic Badass.

Don’t be fooled by the title — this ain’t just for Grandpa.
The Snowflake Generation — and the rest of America — needs a good ol’ dose of ‘Grandpa wisdom’.
Especially if that Grandpa is Doug Giles.
You’ll love My Grandpa Is A Patriotic Badass just as much as Grandpa will.

Share if you think that this GQ ‘Citizen of the Year’ title is a load of B.S.
