It may be the oldest cliche in the book, but that doesn’t make the threat less real.
One such ‘cliche’ is now facing 360 years in jail.
That skeezy guy living out of a van, down by the river.
Ok, maybe not THAT guy, specifically, but something like that.
In this case, the skeezy guy was a serial killer, with 7 victims in Connecticut.
He was already serving for the murder of one victim. Then he pled guilty to the other six.
As editors, we are making the conscious decision not to elevate him by ranking his dark ‘achievements’ among other killers as horrible as he is.
William Devin Howell, 47, pleaded guilty to six counts of murder during a hearing in New Britain Superior Court on Friday. He is expected to be sentenced to 360 years in prison on November 17.
…Howell also told a cellmate ‘there was a monster inside of him that just came out’, described himself as a ‘sick ripper’ and called his van the ‘murder mobile’, according to the warrant.
When authorities searched Howell’s prison cell in 2015, they found notes referencing a serial killer memorabilia website and a newspaper article about Florida’s death penalty, court records show. — DailyMail
They guilty plea was an effort, he claims, to spare the family members of the victims the further pain of a drawn-out trial.
By now, it should go without saying, that staying away from ‘that guy in the van by the river’ can save your life.
But maybe we need to keep saying it, just a little longer.
ClashDaily.com’s, Editor-In-Chief, Doug Giles how-to book:
In ‘Raising Righteous and Rowdy Girls’, Doug Giles reinforces the notion that little women don’t need to be pampered by their fathers to turn out right. And having met his beautiful daughters, I know his philosophy works. As a strong-willed woman who thinks her daddy is the greatest guy in the world, I can tell you this is a must-read for every man who hopes to earn the same title. —-S.E.
