Clash Poll: Do You Believe Obama ‘Improperly Surveilled’ Trump’s Campaign?

Poll numbers are in. Which side are you on?

The most startling thing about these stats: they were taken BEFORE the release of the Nunes Memo.

If we really believe that someone in our own government messing with our elections is an act of tyranny, the answer to this question is at least as important as anything Mueller might dig up about Russia.

After all, Russia — as we know — is a political rival. We actually expect some foul play from a foreign government trying to mess with us. We just expect that we will stay at least one step ahead of it.

After all, we haven’t forgotten how Obama tried to mess with Israel’s free and democratic elections because he was no fan of Netanyahu. Obama saw his own preferred political outcome as more important than the express will of the Israeli citizens.

What if he carried that same ‘ends justifies the means’ mentality of projecting political power for political gains to DOMESTIC elections? That would change everything, wouldn’t it?

One poll tells us that many Americans think that’s exactly what happened in 2016.

Spying On Trump: Americans overwhelmingly believe the Obama administration “improperly surveilled” Donald Trump’s presidential campaign, and a majority say they would like to see a special prosecutor appointed to look into possible misconduct by the FBI and Department of Justice in spying on Trump, the latest IBD/TIPP poll shows.

One fact emerges from the poll of 900 people conducted from Jan. 25 to Feb. 2: The public doesn’t necessarily buy into the Democratic narrative that the Trump campaign “colluded” with Russia to tamper with the 2016 presidential election.

The poll also suggests that many Americans think the roots of the allegations made against Trump extend beyond the two major party campaigns in the last presidential election and deep into the Obama era’s intelligence and law enforcement bureaucracies, and may involve active political bias on the part of supposedly nonpartisan employees of both the Justice Department and FBI.

Did that say ‘overwhelmingly‘?

Let’s dig in a little further. Is this just Republicans? Or has the needle moved with Independents and Democrats, too?

Some 55% of those said it was “likely” that the Obama administration “improperly surveilled the Trump campaign during the 2016 election.” There was an obvious partisan split among the responses, with 87% of Republicans and 55% of independents saying the improper spying took place, but only 31% of Democrats.

On the question of whether a special counsel was needed to “investigate whether the FBI and the Department of Justice improperly surveilled the Trump campaign during the 2016 presidential election,” 54% responded “yes,” and 44% “no.” Again, 74% of Republicans and 50% of independents wanted a special counsel appointed. But even 44% of Democrats thought it would be a good idea.

Even one-third of DEMOCRATS think he improperly surveilled Trump? And almost half would like to see a Special Counsel look into it?

What about wrongdoing among the key players in the drama, among, for example, the FBI brass?

That shook out more along party lines: 77% / 30% / 11%. And that was even before the damaging memos came out.

Or that weird email that Susan Rice sent to herself on her last day of work.

But that’s nothing like the world that has been described by the Democrat leadership and their lapdogs in the Cable ‘news’ Media(D).

Chances are, nobody called our readers to ask whether you think Obama was illegally surveilling Trump and his team.

Now’s your chance to weigh in.

Do you think Obama and his Flunkies 'Improperly Surveilled' Trump?
