Here’s the latest in the crazy rollercoaster ride that has been Steve Bannon’s Career Arc.
He has gone ‘from Hero to Zero’ in two short years.
And as of today, all that drama has boomeranged into his professional life.
Let’s recap how we got here.
Two years ago, he was seen as some kind of a political savant that helped Trump navigate his improbable run to the White House.
Then he was cast as the personification of evil, one on a long list of people who were tagged as Alt-Right, racist, and ‘literally Hitler’.
Then he was never far from the center of the ongoing White House drama in the first few months of the Trump Presidency … he was part of high-profile factional fighting within the ‘Inner Circle’.
It was thought that he, or someone close to him, was responsible for a lot of those destructive leaks that kept rocking the White House, and distracting from the political agenda.
Then along came Kelly, who cleaned house.
And just like that, Bannon was gone.
And then came Wolff’s ‘tell all’ gossip book, and just like that, Bannon was back in the news.
By Wolff’s own admission, there are no clear lines between his lies and the ‘kernel of truth’ he may (or may not) have based them on. But the damage has been done, and Bannon was the reason Wolff had access in the first place.
And reports suggested he had recently been cut off from his financial backer, as well.
And the less said about his role in the debacle of the Alabama Senate race, the better.
Which brings us to today.
‘Sloppy Steve’ — as Trump has since dubbed him — still had his connection to Breitbart, until today’s announcement.
In a simple statement on the Breitbart website:
Bannon said, “I’m proud of what the Breitbart team has accomplished in so short a period of time in building out a world-class news platform.”
According to Breitbart CEO Larry Solov, “Steve is a valued part of our legacy, and we will always be grateful for his contributions, and what he has helped us to accomplish.”
The Atlantic fleshed that out a little further, saying:
In a statement on Tuesday, Sirius XM announced that Bannon would no longer host Breitbart’s radio show: “Breitbart News has decided to end its relationship with Stephen K. Bannon, therefore he will no longer host on SiriusXM since our programming agreement is with Breitbart News.”

He was going to declare war on the media.
How ironic is it that his own leaks to the media became the landmine that ultimately did in his own career?
