Oh. Maybe it’s just coincidence that those Gun Free zones Biden pushed in his legislation ‘happen’ to be among the favorite hunting grounds of bloodthirsty predators.
So, they probably didn’t read any headlines that look like this:
Over 98% of mass shootings occurred on gun-free zones, research shows
Why would they? This wasn’t about solving a safety problem. This was about solving a political one.
With the public pressure from the media and advocates ratcheted ‘up to eleven’ so to speak, there was an urgency to show the angry parents that they are on the ‘good’ side.
And since guns have been painted as the villain, they sided against guns.

Forget the fact that the heroes eventually on the scene were police — or, in other words — authorities with the means to shoot back.
Forget the fact that the failure of Deputies to enter the building almost certainly cost civilian lives.
Forget the fact that at least two teachers that sacrificed their lives — choosing to be human shields and defending their students — might still be alive today if they had a firearm on their person.
Forget the fact that nothing in the legislation compels a teacher to carry a firearm.
None of those factors were relevant to the guns are bad narrative.
The Hillsborough County School Board in Florida on Tuesday unanimously opposed a motion to arm school employees, according to the Tampa Bay Times.
“I feel like we need to take a stand with our students, families and teachers,” board member Cindy Stuart said, according to the Times. “It is wrong arming anyone other than law enforcement on our campus.”
The resolution said the district won’t participate in a program allowing teachers and other school employees to carry concealed weapons if the state legislature approves it. It also calls on the state to increase funding for mental health services and to stop cutting education funding.
The Hillsborough County School Board encompasses Tampa.
The Florida state Senate on Tuesday passed legislation that would authorize the arming of some teachers, as well as place new restrictions on rifle sales, following the deadly shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, which left 17 people dead and 14 people injured.

The legislation permitting teachers to Concealed Carry has nothing to do with an obligation to defend others — although we have seen many cases where a good guy with a gun is exactly the solution to situations like this one.
The legislation simply permits them to discreetly carry the one tool that stands a chance of stopping a predator if he happens to show up on the scene.
It gives the would-be victims a fighting chance (literally) to be something more than a sad statistic at the end of the day. Something that empowers them to do more than pray that a Broward County Deputy (or equivalent) shows up with the courage to actually FACE the threat and take him down.
But no, in an effort to tell the world that they have ‘no blood on their hands’ … they have just enacted a decision that might, in fact, result in their having blood on their hands.
But what do they care about that if they can be reelected?

The men and women in law enforcement that serve and protect us are commendable, but the response time means that they don’t get there when the bullets are flying.
Are you willing to wait 20 minutes for the police to show up?
It’s an issue that needs to be discussed within our churches and addressed by our church leaders.
We need some righteous badassery in the church to protect ourselves, our loved ones, and our brothers and sisters in Christ from the preventable evil in this world.
We need to Obey Jesus.
Including what he said in Luke 22:36.
He [Jesus] said to them, “But now let the one who has a moneybag take it, and likewise a knapsack. And let the one who has no sword sell his cloak and buy one.
